Job Summary
Laborer position for asphalt road construction crews in Venango, Clarion, Forest, Warren, McKean, and Jefferson counties.
This position requires a CDL Class A license to drive DOT regulated trucks and trailers.
This is a union position.
Main Responsibilities
Perform all work in a safe manner
Follow company safety policies and procedures
Shovel asphalt and other materials
Luting / raking asphalt and aggregates
Set-up and take down temporary work zones
Control traffic in and around work zones (flagging)
Assist in backing and dumping of triaxles and milling machines
Handling of hot liquid asphalt and other materials
Remove old asphalt, concrete and other materials using a jackhammer or quickie saw
Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones
Seal end joints
Help fill water tanks on equipment as needed
Compact material with small hand rollers and vibratory plates
Operate DOT regulated vehicles
Education
High School Diploma or GED
CDL Class A License
Skills
Must be able to follow instructions
Must be able to work as a team
Must be safety conscious
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work long shifts - up to 7 days a week when necessary
Must be able to work night shifts when applicable
Must be able to withstand long periods of standing / walking / moving without sitting
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must be able to withstand working in seasonal climates
Must be able to withstand frequent bending, twisting, scooping
Must be able to climb as necessary
