We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer and Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Actco Tool and Mfg Co.
As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will play a crucial role in programming CNC machinery and managing projects to produce high-precision components.
\*\*Responsibilities:\*\* 1.
Interpret engineering drawings, models, or specifications to determine machining requirements.
2.
Create and manipulate 3D models and drawings of parts and fixtures.
3.
Program CNC machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications: Verify CNC programs using simulation software or machine-specific simulation tools to ensure accuracy, collision avoidance, and optimal toolpaths.
Conduct virtual machining simulations to detect potential errors, interferences, or inefficiencies.
Adjust and refine programs based on simulation results and feedback from machinists or production personnel.

Build routing and process workflow: Build routers for parts aligning to manufacturing and machining standards.
Process engineering changes for routers, programs and work instructions.
Collaborate with production teams to optimize machining processes.
5.
Machine Setup and Tooling: Collaborate with machinists, tooling specialists, or engineers to determine the most suitable tooling, fixtures, and work holding methods for machining operations.
Generate setup sheets or instructions for machinists, including tooling lists, setup procedures, and reference points.
Provide guidance and support during machine setup, ensuring proper tool and workpiece alignment, tool offset verification, and other setup requirements.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC programming and machining.
7.
Suggest appropriate process improvements involving tooling and fixturing to maximize production.
8.
Work with scheduler and production team; to understand and manage capacity and scheduling challenges.
9.
Work with scheduler to help determine what work is best to offload to maintain production schedule and which subcontract houses best meet the capability requirements of those components.
10.
Work with in-house production team and with subcontract houses to ensure production schedule is upheld and cost parameters are met.
11.
Work closely with Machine Shop management to verify capabilities and reconcile outcomes of production processes.
12.
Communicate with customers, engineers, and machinists to ensure finished components conform to design intent.
\*\*Qualifications:\*\* 1.
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer.
2.
Proficiency in CNC programming Mastercam and G-code language knowledge with a strong troubleshooting aptitude required.
3.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, tooling speeds and feeds.
4.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications including knowledge of GD&T specifications.
5.
Detail and goal-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.
6.
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
7.
Ability to work as part of a team with strong organization and documentation skills to be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
\*\*Education and Certifications:\*\* 1.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2.
Certification or degree in CNC machining or a related field is a plus.
