As a General Real Estate Appraiser, your main responsibility will be to assess the appropriate values of properties needed for highway improvement projects.
This will involve spending time at courthouses across six counties, carefully examining records to determine ownership, easements, and other legal agreements.
Additionally, you will be expected to deliver friendly, efficient, and accurate customer service to property owners.
On certain occasions, you may even need to provide testimony at hearings and trials to help resolve any damage-related issues.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As a General Real Estate Appraiser, you will appraise residentially zoned land and residential properties of one-to-four family dwelling units and single-family dwellings for right-of-way acquisition needed for highway improvements and ensure that appraisals reflect fair market values for just compensation of damages.
You will also ensure compliance with all appraisal rules and regulations, ensure that all state and federal eminent domain rules and regulations, and ensure that all appraisals are completed in a timely manner to meet letting schedules.
Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment.
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
