Material Handlers are responsible for the movement of incoming and stored production materials, finished goods, and other supplies.
During the shipping and receiving process, the incumbent must record inventory status and match deliveries to purchase orders.
The position follows standard fork truck operations and practices safe work habits to ensure material movement is as efficient and safe as possible.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1.
Operate fork trucks in a safe manner during loading, unloading, and transportation of goods around the plant
2.
Verify accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
3.
Ensure proper labeling and storage placement for materials.
4.
Maintaining cleanly, safe work areas to reduce hazards.
5.
Checking the functionality of the fork trucks prior to use; completing accurate daily logs.
6.
Attitude: Maintains a positive approach toward completing daily tasks and supporting production areas.
7.
Aptitude: Ability to accurate maintain necessary documentation, safe and proper operation of assigned equipment, and communication skills with fellow Team Members, vendors, and deliverers.
8.
Productivity: Works diligently to aide production by keeping areas well stocked and unloading incoming deliveries in a timely manner.
9.
Teamwork: Follows both written and verbal instructions to efficiently manage the material input and output.
10.
Safety: Follows all safety procedures and work to continuously improve safety throughout the plant and ensure timely and regular safety training goals are met.
Understands, supports, and executes all work using proper tools and machinery in a safe manner.
11.
Accountability: Maintains expected dependability level, meets all attendance requirements, and follows the rules and regulations of the production and warehouse teams.
Supports and complies with all Company policies and safety requirements.
12.
Planning: Assists Warehouse Manager and Supply Chain team to plan and organize delivery activities by communicating anticipated material needs, identifying equipment maintenance, and any quality and productivity issues.
Provides suggestions for continual production and quality improvements.
Compensation is based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for an annual performance bonus that is based on individual and company performance.
Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for a discretionary weekly, monthly and/or quarterly bonus based on budget.
