Job Selection Expectations:
Applications, resumes, letters of reference, and written samples will be reviewed for required certification, demonstrated related knowledge/skills/abilities, and ability to communicate effectively.
As candidates progress through the selection process, they may be asked to perform additional written exercises, complete panel interviews, and perform a sample lesson related to the subject area.
Application Requirements: Applicants are expected to possess a valid and appropriate certificate for the vacant position at the time of application as well as all necessary clearances.
Additional qualifications and experience will be considered and may be necessary or desirable for individual positions along with a demonstrated competency in writing and communication skills.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of content and the structure of the discipline.
Knowledge of structured literacy and research-based instructional strategies for teaching reading Background and certification in elementary reading is desired.
Skill in cognitively engaging students in subject matter using varying levels of Depth of Knowledge (DOK).
Skill in utilizing appropriate instructional resources that will enhance student learning.
Knowledge of prerequisite relationships or underpinnings related to proficiency related to content objectives.
Knowledge of effective methods to establish clear behavior expectations in learning environments.
Experience in data collection and developing instructional plans based on DIBELS testing.
Ability to apply an instructional plan through the MTSS process.
Skill in developing lessons to accommodate individual needs of diverse learners (e.
g.
ESL, ELL, IEP students).
Ability to apply classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior, discourage behaviors that are not conducive to learning, and promote self-control in students.
Ability to communicate in a manner which is sensitive to culture, gender, intellectual and physical differences.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people, such as peers or citizens.
Ability to utilize positive behavior supports to encourage desired student behavior.
Skill in delivering instruction, either in person, or through electronic methods, in methods that are stimulating and promote student engagement.
Ability to communicate ideas verbally in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
Ability to continuously evaluate one’s strategies or instructional content during instruction, and adapt when needed, through the use of formative assessments.
Ability to modify one’s behavior, work methods, or plans in response to changing conditions and new information.
Ability to direct student conversations to encourage deeper understanding.
Ability to assess one's own performance, or lesson design to make improvements or take corrective action.
Ability to uphold district policy and professional ethical standards.
