Lead Teacher
Duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational goals
- Provide instruction and support to students with a range of special needs, including autism, developmental disabilities, and behavioral health challenges
- Utilize learning technology and assistive devices to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and positive behavior
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing assessment and feedback to students and their families
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance
- Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent conferences as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license in Special Education or a relevant subject area
- Experience working with children with special needs, including autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges
- Knowledge of learning strategies and instructional techniques for students with diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment used in special education settings
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social-emotional well-being of students
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
