15/hour** - Monthly medical premium share of only $75 - individual or family! - PPO health plan with great coverage and low deductibles - Employer paid dental and vision - Climate and culture of the organization are top of mind Position Summary: The Clerical Payroll employee will perform all activities for payroll according to policies and procedures as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Finance.
Provide professional support in a full range of payroll and group benefits administration.
Provide administrative support to the finance and human resources office to effectively meet demands of the departments.
Works closely with an active team and fosters a culture of collaboration and interaction.
This is a bargaining unit position.
Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent - 2+ years of payroll experience Desired Qualifications: - College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred - Experience with School District payroll processing - A strong financial and accounting acumen Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Oversees the daily operation of payroll services - Prepares and manages the processing of employee payroll and payroll liability checks/vouchers - Maintains payroll liabilities ledger - Run reports in AESOP bi-weekly to verify accuracy of days/hours and pay rates - Meets scheduled due dates for ACH transfers and tax filing after each payroll - Prepares and uploads PSERS/VOYA monthly reports, including uploading accurate employee demographic, contract and work record information - Oversees PSERS/VOYA monthly and quarterly payments - Reconciles, prepares, and files quarterly and annual federal, state and local tax reports - Reconciles, generates and files W2 forms - Works closely with Human Resources personnel to adjust salaries due to unpaid leaves, dock days and other leaves as defined in various collective bargaining agreements and compensation plans.
- Maintain a working knowledge of guidelines, regulations, and procedures relevant to the payroll process - Accurately maintains all employee salaries, deductions and budget codes - Maintain a positive working relationship with appropriate staff - Assure that proper documentation is maintained and accessible to key program staff relative to payroll - Perform duties in a manner that reflects professionally on the IU - Maintain effective communications with regards to payroll information - Maintain accurate files and records - Maintains 100% confidentiality in regard to employment information received as part of payroll processing duties - Perform other duties as assigned Performance Factors/Job Competencies: - Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to explain payroll to key members of the organization - Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently - Ability to work independently on tasks with minimal supervision - Ability to be flexible with work schedule to ensure payroll processing dates are met - Ability to meet or exceed deadlines - Knowledge of state and federal laws that impact payroll as it relates to the organization - Able to listen, communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all staff - Strong attention to detail - Strong organizational skills - Maintain accurate records Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.
Incumbent must be able to sit at desk for extended periods of time.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment with a vast majority of the time utilizing computers to complete daily tasks.
Due to travel outside of the home office, candidates are required to have a vehicle and valid driver's license to attend job related duties, meetings, seminars, and trainings.
